The green industrial transition and the large investments in Norrbotten attracted Ahola to Boden. Now we welcome the company as a new member of our coworking space at the top of Verkstan.
The family-owned company was founded in Finland in 1955 by Helge Ahola, when he saw the need for transportation services in the country. Over the decades, the business has evolved from a local transportation company to an international logistics group. Already in 1973, the company took its first step outside Finland when it started transportation to Sweden.
Today, Ahola works with special transportation that requires careful planning and special equipment to ensure high quality and punctuality. The company plans and implements individual transport services tailored to the needs of its customers and is meeting the growing demand in northern Sweden by expanding its operations and investing in new vehicles.
Why did you choose to establish your business in Boden Business Park?
– The green industrial transition taking place in Norrbotten aroused our interest. We want to be where industries are growing and be a party that brings industries forward. We carried out our largest transport to date to Boden where the transports weighed a full 400 tons. Boden has been at the forefront of new establishments and has a good business climate.
– We chose to establish ourselves at Boden Business Park, which offers us what we need with coworking and network meetings. Having a local presence in Boden is important in our work to make new contacts and develop collaboration with local companies,” says Nina Collin, Area Manager, Northern Sweden.
What are you up to?
– We are looking for new business contacts and partners in northern Sweden who need comprehensive special transportation. We handle the entire process from deliveries to finished projects, including assembly and installation both on land and at sea, in Sweden, the Nordic region, Europe and globally.
