Intersective Game

Regional focus on cross-sector collaboration through cutting-edge technologies

With a focus on cutting-edge technology, cross-industry collaboration and innovation at intersections, the Intersective Game project will strengthen the exchange between the gaming industry, industries and other organizations in Norrbotten and Västerbotten.

The Intersective Game project, which is part of the Arctic Game cluster, has the overall goal of establishing a testbed cluster in game methodology and technology. Through the testbeds, the project will create more opportunities for cross-sectoral collaboration between SMEs, research actors and the public sector or other people who can benefit from learning more about cutting-edge technologies.

“Increased use of frontier technologies contributes to faster solutions to complex problems, strengthened innovation capacity and competitiveness. But to succeed, we need to increase knowledge about the possibilities and applications of the technology,” says Hanna Müller, business developer with a focus on the gaming industry.

Focusing on advanced technologies

The project focuses on advanced technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Extended Reality (XR). These are used, for example, to visualize ideas in architecture and design, support rehabilitation and therapy, train in dangerous situations, and enhance movie and game experiences.

“We just scratched the surface of the technology’s uses. Through the project, we hope to contribute to stronger technology and service development in both gaming-related industries and other industries,” says Hanna Müller.

Besides Boden, Luleå, Skellefteå and Umeå are also participating in the project. By organizing Hackathons, Game Jams, lectures, events and workshops, the project contributes to increased knowledge about cutting-edge technology and game methodology, while creating new collaborations and unexpected synergies – collaborations that hopefully give birth to new innovative pilot projects.
