This is the ninth time since 2010 that the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SKR) has carried out a survey of how satisfied entrepreneurs are with the service provided by municipalities in the exercise of public authority.
The survey is based on a Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) based on survey responses in which local businesses are asked to rate the municipality’s performance in predefined areas such as fire protection, building permits, land use planning, environmental and health protection, food control and catering permits.
Boden has the highest index of all municipalities and it is the first time ever that the same municipality has held first place two years in a row.
– A hard and long-term effort that clearly shows how highly we value and prioritise cooperation with our entrepreneurs and our local business community,” says Mats Berg, municipal manager and head of the business community.
One area where Boden municipality stands out is building permits, where the NKI lands at 94. Something that the municipal management sees as particularly important given the expansive phase that the municipality is entering in connection with the green social transition.
– Above all, it is an important signal to many of the external players who are now increasingly looking to come here,” says Mats Berg.
Business owners are also satisfied with the municipality of Boden’s handling of serving permits, which is ranked third with the same NKI as Nacka (2), 93.
In the previous survey, in 2021, Boden also came out on top with an NKI of 86. It was the first time ever that a municipality from Norrland took first place.
Kalix came second in this year’s survey, advancing from 14th place in 2021.
