Tourism accounts show how visitors’ spending contributes to the local economy. The statistics include, among other things, spending on lodging, dining out, shopping, transportation, and activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Anki Granstr\u00f6m, chair of the board of the Boden Tourism Economic Association, this development is the result of several factors that have been at play over a long period of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Boden\u2019s strong growth is no coincidence. The establishment of new industries has increased interest in the area, while investments in visitor facilities, experiences, and events have made the destination more attractive. Add to that the dedicated marketing and sales efforts of many stakeholders over several years. Together, these factors have created a strong, positive trend that is now clearly reflected in the statistics.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The increase in consumption also means higher revenues for companies in the tourism industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This means increased revenue for hotels, restaurants, caf\u00e9s, retail businesses, transportation companies, and tourism operators. The tourism industry has a ripple effect throughout the local economy and contributes to more jobs, investments, and a stronger business climate.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This positive trend also creates favorable conditions for continued growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
