The Land and Environment Court has approved H2 Green Steel’s application for an environmental permit for a green steel production facility at Boden Industrial Park.<\/p>\n\n
The decision means that the company’s investment in a fully integrated, digitalized and sustainable production facility for green steel and green hydrogen enters a new phase where the goal is still to start production in the second half of 2025. The company is continually adding partners to the project and earlier this week announced an agreement with the Port of Lule\u00e5. The final cost of the establishment at Boden Industrial Park is estimated at around SEK 50 billion.<\/p>\n\n
– Another green light for H2 Green Steel’s mega investment, which of course feels extremely gratifying and which will not only benefit the company, but also Boden, the entire region and Sweden. What is now happening at Boden Industrial Park with H2 Green Steel symbolizes in many ways the new industrialization here in Northern Sweden – this is where it happens. A somewhat historic day for the green steel city of Boden, says Claes Nordmark, municipal councillor.<\/p>\n\n
– This is a great day where we from Boden, together with all the other bodies involved, show the whole of Sweden that it is actually possible to have fast processes in complex permit issues. This is an important milestone for our company that enables us to continue the work at a high pace,” says Henrik Henriksson, CEO of H2 Green Steel.<\/p>\n\n
