Innovation competition decided
During the autumn, Boden Business Park announced an innovation competition among students at Björknäsgymnasiet in Boden. The task was to create inspiring outdoor environments with the keywords sustainability and flexibility. Places where you want to meet, socialize and work outdoors in the summertime, like the meeting places you have already created indoors.
Among the more than 30 contributions, six groups had been invited to the final at the Park to pitch their ideas to a jury group.
"It's amazing how talented students we have in Boden and so confident in their presentation techniques!", says Anna-Karin Andersson, Give Competence, who sat on the jury.
Anna-Karin was construction project manager for Verkstan, which is the new building on the site and was inaugurated in February 2020.
Camilla Sandström from a and d arkitektkontor read the justification for the first prize and Tomas Sundström, IT Norrbotten handed out the diploma.
"Very good focus on including Boden Business Park's existing activities in its proposal. Raises the importance of community between different ages and sustainability. The group shows an understanding of the importance of culture in the work of creating a society where people want to work and study as well as to stay and live.
The winning group consisted of Maja Wuopio, Filippa Suorra, Kasper Enbom and Marcus Bergenstråhle from year 1 on the Social Sciences programme.
The teacher Helena Carolin cheered loudly.
"Wow, what fun! It is so important that the students get to work with real cases and it is such good training with pitching and meeting a jury before the upcoming UF time."
Even the program coordinator for the technology program, Susanne Hedlund Nilsson, who was not present during the morning but who has worked hard with her students, thinks it was a superb innovation competition.
"I really have to thank you for the initiative that Boden Business Park has taken with this competition. The students thought it was great fun and here at technology we link courses to the project. I really highlight it as a very fine example of good cooperation with the business community in Boden."
"The collaboration with the school is a very important part of the municipality's business development, and conducting an innovation competition with Björknäsgymnasiet regarding the outdoor environment at Boden Business Park felt like a 'perfect match'", says Michaela Strömberg, Business Developer Boden Business Park.
